This manhole cover...
...foaar.
Must be new... its a Durham cover, with... Gatic keyholes... and a nice spinning-top underside! I was delighted when upon pushing it out from beneath with my shoulders, it shifted with so very little effort. Weighed barely 30kgs! Then it slid back into place like water down a plughole. Sydney needs moaar!

i'm listening to Katy Perry's album... haha. it's kinda fun... kinda like a less-punky Avril? some of the songs totally are in Avril territory though.
anyways just for kicks here are 2 albums by Supreme Beings of Leisure. theyre a guy-girl duo that make electronic trip-hop music... sounds kinda like Bitter:Sweet/Goldfrapp and maybe Sneaker Pimps? good stuff.

I had a sudden and intense migraine this morning while at work. I've never had one before, and I even had a visual aura beforehand (yeah, I've been doing my research on wikipedia) -- light in general was just fucking with me, making me feel dizzy and confused more than anything else. And then the intense head pain and nausea came -- combined, it felt like a black cloud was over my head and I just couldn't think. I found it really upsetting, because I'd always considered myself lucky to not be the headache type... and I don't want my body to make a habit of this.
In other news, I'm taking Thompson to the vet mid-next week for some teeth extractions. I should have done this back in March, but I was too concerned about the outcome (infections in mouth, changes in personality due to trauma) to make a move. The other day it came to my mind, and I forced myself to have a look at his teeth now -- and it's clear that areas of his gum are bloody and infected. I hope that by leaving it this long, I haven't caused too much trouble. It's going to be expensive, and completely drain my savings, but... my main concern is his well-being. I just don't want it to affect him in the long-run. Sigh. (I think I need him more than he needs me.)
And, to keep this streak of negativity rolling... I think I'll be sending in my camera for sensor repair/cleaning. There are some definitely unhealthy-looking streaks going on in one corner of all my images. Guh.

I had my graduation ceremony almost a month ago, and armed with my little B.F.A. I registered for classes as a graduate student soon after that. What a milestone, and a lip-biting one too. Those fears I'd spoken of in April, were later on eclipsed with excitement... and now more recently, those feelings have again been eclipsed - by nerves, which have been there all along but are now only intensified, mainly about wherever my new home will be. I have a bookmarks folder in my browser titled 'Vancouver' and within it is one named 'Possibilities,' as in potential homes. Multiple emails and phone calls and I'm growing more anxious. Sea change sea change sea change, you can't come any quicker! Or rather, sea change, get back, you're coming on too strong! I just want my first apartment to be the best that it can possibly be, nice, with minimal hassles, not too expensive, not too far a commute, but I don't know if that's too much to ask... I'm just getting a bit desperate is what it is. However. Lots of things are generating excitement just as an equal amount of things are contributing to the anxiousness. This was the school I was most intimidated to apply to but when I got the good news, I almost didn't think twice accepting. It was a 'how could I not?' feeling. I'm still intimidated by it, by the program, by what I'll be embarking on (which I'm still working out the blueprints for), but good challenge: here I am. Or, referencing some culinary combat show which I don't actually watch, I'm ready to do battle.
